My Marelli starter took a dump this weekend on the way to the AZ rally.
Fortunately, I found gas stations on hillsides, so I could bump start. Pat
Garrett and I took it completely apart, cleaned it the best we could, and it
worked a half-dozen times, but after the judging Saturday evening, it was
not spinning again. Probably hurt feelings from not getting chosen in it's
category.
My springs are fine. Must be a gremlin problem, as everything seems to be in
order. Jumping from the hot post to the starter post does not make it spin,
either.
