The replacement nut (MG# 14219310) arrived from MG Cycle and imparting the desired torque was a simple matter (129 pound feet). I did use a bit of blue Loctite on the threads and dimpled the keeper against the splines in a couple of places. I also installed new O-rings for the clutch push rod and a new bearing for the 22 mm clutch throw out assembly (given to me by Jim McDermott). Of course new seals and crush washers were fit throughout. The transmission is all buttoned up and ready to go. The only thing remaining is to replace the clutch input hub. Alas, they've been unavailable here in the states for several years now, but I may have a lead on a supply from Europe.
