2013 January 07: Dropped off valve guides (2.00 hours)

Angela is down with the flu. After work today, I grabbed Abraham, picked up Darby from school, then ran a few errands. Chief amongst the tasks was dropping off new valve guides with my machinist. He also handed me the polished crankshaft and main bearings, ready to install. I am very happy that the crank did not need to be ground and non-standard bearings fit (low miles makes a big difference on internal engine wear). Yippeee!!!
On the way home, our Hondy Odyssey minivan was rear-ended while I was stopped behind traffic waiting at a red light. No one was injured and everything should be paid for by the other driver's insurance.
