Paul,

The registration has a VIN of 4786469. That's a long way from 50420.
That's why I am puzzled. I've had the bike sitting in storage for almost
2 months, but never thought of comparing the paperwork to what's on the
bike. It is going to be a pain to try to correct this.

After I get a license plate, the bike needs to be certified technically.
Until this is done, the bike cannot be used on a public road. How does
one get the bike to the certification place, one wonders? Well, you
trailer it, or ride it there illegally. If it fails inspection, you need
to get it fixed, then repeat the process. Once it is certified, you go
back to the license office, and they re-issue the registration.
Shouldn'd take me more than a full day. Thank God I have an
understanding boss. However, if the numbers don't match, then....I'll
let you guys know how this plays out.

"What digits are actually on the registration? Sometimes the DMV will
add a
few 0's to beginning of the VIN to make it compatible with their system.
They don't like our short numbers.
