Hans,
What digits are actually on the registration? Sometimes the DMV will add a
few 0's to beginning of the VIN to make it compatible with their system.
They don't like our short numbers.

Well, I checked again with a flashlight, but used a younger pair of
eyes. You guys are right, the number is actually 50420 and it says made
in Jan 1972. Still, that doesn't account for the weird 7 digit VIN
number on the registration.
