Patrick,
Oops, you have revealed another of my mechanical ineptitudes. I'm looking
at a picture of a carb on page 52 of the Primier manual. When I look inside
the carb, when it's on the bike I was looking at the throttle slide with
taper needle. I see now that the choke is actually referred to in the book
as the "air control plug (plunger)". Are you saying there is a rubber disk
at the bottom of that orifice that the plunger goes in? I didn't see one in
there but will look again. Will call dealer to see if I can get new disks
in there. I can also try your experiment of running the bike, if I can get
it running with the choke cables disconnected. Thanks, Bob

only way to verify is to inspect the rubber disk at the bottom of the |
plunger and to insure that the outer cable jacket has at least 1/16" slack when the choke is off. You could easily have adjusted the choke cables |
tight on both carbs. How about you remove the choke bodies, disconnect the cables, reinsert the choke bodies and ride it that way for a day to insure that the choke |
are sealing down?
