I have also checked choke cables and have lubricated them. I have checked
the choke cables with the carbs open so I can see if they are closing or not
and if they are opening or not but all seems fine. Also, starboard cylinder
failed with old round slide carbs on as well as newer square side carbs. I
will check this again and thanks for your feedback. Bob Hawkes

got up to operating temperature, that cylinder ran rich. The handlebar lever still seemed to move normally, so it wasn't obvious. Simple repair once found, though.
