Well my V700 wasn't running and I put new tires on it, mostly to be able to

That was the clincher for me. If the bike was not running, why would someone put new tires on it? I have also not found any of the $1500 Ambo/Eldo's supposedly around. Admittingly, I have not looked that long (4-5 months) and maybe I've looked in the wrong places. But for what used parts are going for, a parted out bike can be worth more that a bastardized runner.
