Good idea to hear the bike run first.

I suppose that most on this list would consider "running well" to be when it
starts easily, idles well, does not smoke, comes off the throttle promptly,
and rolls true.

Once you get the bike home....spend some time learning about it and spend a
few hours cleaning it up....it won't matter how much you paid for it :-)

Good luck with everything and please let us know how it all turns out.
