Hello all!
I need some advise on removing the Exhaust Nuts from my 72' Eldo. I have
been trying all methods, destructive and non-destructive, to remove these
nuts. I ordered a 3 peice spanner set from Harbor Freight which only broke
after about 20lbs of torque on them. I have tried to make my own wrench,
which also broke. I finally got out the infamous pipe wrench in
frustration. With this method the left side nut broke a chunk off and only
wanted to bend the nut. I have lubricated it with different solutions,
lubricants, wax, and even considered pouring beer on it to satisfy angered
gods.
Anyone have a suggestion short of dropping the thing off at Detroit
Eurocycles?
Disassembly of the bike took 3 nights of wrenching and
documenting/packaging.
Removal of these nuts has taken almost 2 and a half months. Ugg!
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks!
