I never thought anyone was going to admit to using
Cheng Shin's. I put the same tire on two years ago. I
went to the Michigan rally with 9,000 miles on the
rear tire, figering that it would be worn out when I
got home. There's 10,000 miles now on that C289 and I
think there's more life in the tire yet. $40.49 +
shipping from J.C. Whitney, $5 more from Dennis Kirk
with no shipping for orders over $100.

I use Cheng Shin C289's, front and rear both 110's. They are safety-bead tires, last 8000 miles on the rear and twice that on the front. They cost half what other tires cost. They handle just fine considering I don't ride like I'm on a sport bike anyway, and they have plenty of grip in the rain. The don't do that well in snow, though. Nonetheless I highely recommend them for loopframes. -Mike (69 Ambo) ===== M.Jones, student of philosophy and religion at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
