Hey Rob,
Well, I've had the 120 tires along time, put allot of miles on 'em. It's
hard to make a comparison from the 110. I can tell you that the bike feels
confident, sturdy, and handles just great for a loop, I don't remember the
equation(s) for figuring out width and height for tires, I could look 'em up
if anyone's interested(or if anyone has 'em POST 'EM!). But the 120 can only
be a centimeter or two wider than the 110, but it does fill in the fender
allot better than the 110 and I think it does suite the bike better riding
straight down the highway, threw bends and turns as well as turning around
in tight spots.
I see no reason not to go with the 120, except for originality purposes (and
whitewalls).
Kev

Kevin,
I like fat tires on a Loop to go along with the fat sheet metal. I think it
looks cool. But are fat tires OK, that is are they stock? And, do they
allow the bike to handle well on the road? Just wondering as I am reading a
lot of opinions on the list tonight and I don't know lots about tires but I
know the look I want.
Thanks, Bob Hawkes

On my 71 I run Avon Roadrunners. 110/90 on |
front, 120/90 on the rear. The 120 is a little tight getting past everything(easier w/the rr fender off). The 110 on the rr always looked |
to me. I never liked Avon's until a good friend that works for a Harley dealer swore by them. They are alittle pricey, about $100 for the front |
$120 for the rr, but he got me a great deal on 'em. The tires have been on the bike for about 3-4 years(with on season of sitting for a resto) and |
held up just great. I ran a rr Cheng-shin on a Yamaha in AZ. It seemed to wear really fast, |
I guess for the price you can't beat 'em, just my experience with 'em. I just wish I could find a white wall with Avon.
