I have run continentals on my ambo and eldo. The only problem I have had
with them is the side walls seem to egg crack early. The bikes are kept
inside so they are not exposed to the elements. Maybe they had been
sitting on the shelf awhile (old stock). Other than that they are great
tires.

Hey Jim,
At the risk of getting flamed.....I run the Cheng Shin replica of the
Dunlop
K70. It was popular in the 70's when I first started riding Guzzi's and
comes in the 4.00X18 size. JC Whitney sells them for around $45 apiece.
They
are 6-ply and very tough. I ride my Ambo everywhere, and have never had a
problem. I live in Las Vegas, and they hold up to the desert heat very
well.
I always liked them because they work well in the dirt, like in graded
roads. Actually, they were used for flat track racing in the 70's. Besides
all that, I like the period look.
