Thanks Charlie. My Ambo had a semi-brand new Conti on the front as that is
what came on the wheel when I got it off eBay, the rear was a Cheng Shin I
put on about 7 years ago. I never got the chance to put a whole lot of miles
on them, but they seemed to handle pretty good. The only thing I didn't like
was how the front would follow the grooves. Would be nice to get one that
doesn't do that.

Hi Paul,
I haven't tried anything but the Continentals, so can't comment on anything
but them. Currently, the Ambo wears a Blitz front and Tour (TK17) rear in
the sizes you mention. The previous Tour lasted just shy of 16,000 miles and
the front Blitzs last about 10,000. The rear Blitz lasted just over 8,000
miles so I decided to try the Tour for the extra $7 it cost. Twice the miles
for $7 more, what a deal! For the way I ride they are completely
satisfactory, offering excellent traction wet or dry and great stability in
all situations. The front does follow grooved pavement mildly, but not
enough to be worrysome. I haven't tried the Tour (TK16) front because it
isn't available in the 110/90 size only 100/90. Filet mignon tires at a
hamburger price in my opinion! Cheers,
Charlie

What is everyones opinion on Cheng Shin (Hi Max Sport/Touring and Marquis Sport/Touring) , Bridgestone (Spitfire S11) and Continental (Conti Blitz TKH23F & TKH24R) tires. Are these the right sizes, 110/90 18 for front and 120/90 18? |
