I do my own with 8" irons and dishsoap for lube. I change tubes every
third or fourth tire on the rear any every other tire on the front.
Between the Ambo/Eldo (a mix of both bikes) and raT-3 I use up 8-10
tires a year so the tubes are still changed at least yearly. The same
tire always gets more mileage on the Ambo than the T-3 though both are
ridden about the same. I'm so used to it that a start to finish tire
swap takes under 20 minutes.

 Hi Bob,
Yes, I change my own tires the "old fashioned" way. Long tire irons,
rims
protectors, tire mounting lube, sweat and cussing! It can be difficult
depending on how stiff the carcass is of the tires coming off and going
on
(Dunlops and Avons seem the most difficult, the Contis much easier). I
always replace tubes just as a precaution. As Ken's post proves, "your
mileage may vary." :-) Cheers,

Charlie
