I was talking to Tom about this as he sent pics of his boot to me and I do
see that it smacks right up tight to the airbox. Either my airbox is too
far back or my engine too far forward!! Seriously, I wonder if the inakes
on the ends of the carbs are to short. I got the bike this way from the
Dealer and the previous boot that was on there was also duct taped, a real
mess so I bought a new boot but it was still not right. I will continue to

weatherstrip adhesive, and so far it is working quite well. The |

installed the boot, trial fitted the airbox, and cleaned their mating
surfaces with solvent alcohol. The extra glue was removed with a bit |

| | | | | | | | naptha (handwarmer fluid).
I thought about the inner sleeve trick myself, let us know how it |
