OK, here we go ! The locking nuts are more prone to leaks than the non
locking stock type ones. The more the threads are worn the more likely
they are to leak. Probably because the lock ring actually decreases the
sealing pressure at the joint. Use a good wrench on the stock nut and
make sure you have the frame clamps secure and you should be in good
shape.

Hey, Any tips on keeping the exhaust leaking from the header pipe at the head? I go through gaskets more than toilet paper. I have the "locking header nuts" and the headers are secured with the frame/header clamps. I've tried doubling up on gaskets to no avil. A Ex. gasket will last about 2 weeks with riding 60 miles a day and checking the tightness constantly. Usually the right one will loosen and blow first. ANY suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Kev |
