Tom, that won't work- the molten aluminum won't fuse to the cold casting
of the block- you'll just make a nice casting of the hole. Also, if you
don't anneal it under controlled conditions, you'll might warp the
engine block (unlikely). More likely is that, given the high reactivity
of aluminum, you'll just make aluminum oxide.
