Hey All,
The sad thing is that I have experienced this before. When Guzzi first came
to Canada the rep told me the same thing, "...get off that old Guzzi and buy
a new one....". Maybe she should have said something like "...why don't you
compliment that beautiful classic with a new one..." Attempting to insult
one's ride in order to get them to buy a new one doesn't follow any
marketing practices that I have ever studied.
The REAL dinasour here is their philosophy. We live in a "service oriented"
society. I can't imagine anyone in a competitive world snubbing customers
yet MG still follows the old "build a better mousetrap and the world will
beat a path to your door" idea.
I still believe that MG could have a solid market niche and sell a lot more
bikes if they would just focus on quality control and sound marketing
principles.

Apparently this Rep kept his job after the trimming last week at Corporate. Ian saw, Passing the buck....(the hell with helping after a sale, that's a dealers problem not mine!) As a Factory Rep myself, I'm intriqued with their "bedside manner". Later, JU |
