I ran into a MG rep at a open house at a old Guzzi dealer now closed, and
was on my Eldo. I introduced myself and talked with him for a few minutes.
His attitude was basically when I was going to get rid of the dinosaur and
get a new Guzzi. He kind of thumbed his noise down on the older bikes. My
take was my eldo will do everything a new one will do, maybe not as fast,
but I done have to worry about having a 10,000 dollar bike sitting in my
garage because you can not get a warranty part, or the dealer has closed, or
the new Hondasuki dealer who has just picked up the MG line knows nothing
about them. My dad bought a new Cali Sport and the paint fell off the
engine, the gauges are full of water from condensation, and MG said they
would give him a new set of bags for the paint and the gauge is not covered.
He was told the engine paint is not really covered under warranty and they
are addressing it as a courtesy
He is just glad he did not get a 03 model with the bad cams and clutch.
I was thinking about getting a new bike next year and really like the new
Lemans, but with the problems and from what I hear from feed up owners, I
think I will wait for the new Triumph Thruxton Bonnieville 900 due out.
