I DO expect it to have the atmosphere of old home week.
Service, networking, common bonds, and shared experience is what Guzzi
is all about. For $11,000 (EV dresser or Sport prices), you can buy
half a dozen bikes that will compete heads-up or better with a Guzzi if
all you have is a stopwatch and an odometer and magazine test results.
It's more than that.
Someone who thinks he/she is in the business of selling and servicing
Moto Guzzis, and who would tell a loop owner to "get a new one" and then
walk off and lose interest in them, is actually a complete dork who has
no idea what business they are actually in.
Like the old railroad magnates...
"What business are you in?"
"Son, I run a railroad".
"Aren't you worried about these new-fangled trucks and aeroplanes?"
"Nope, son, those aren't railroads - they don't know how to do what I
do. I'm not worried about that competition.."
Turned out they thought they were running a railroad, but they REALLY
were in the transportation business, and most ended up bankrupt and
nationalized. If a guy with a Guzzi sign thinks he's just in the
business of selling and servicing two-wheeled vehicles, he hasn't got a
clue....
It doesn't cost a dealer a nickel extra to do it right. Mine
(Winchester Motosport) does....
