Yea some of the styling clues of the new guzzis are a bit off. I do like
the MGSO Corsa but 15,000 is out of my league for a new bike. If I am going
to spend that much on a bike it would be something that would appreciate in
value like a old Indian, Vincent, or a BSA Rocket Goldstar. My favorite
late model Guzzi would be a toss up between a 1000S in green & black or a
Sport 1100 Carb model. I will admit my dad's red & black Cali Sport Special
is nice. I keep trying to talk him in to letting me strip it down and
install the engine & trans in a loop.

Been doing some reading of late on the Breva 1100 and find that Guzzi has moved the alternator off of the crankshaft and back up to where we find it on our Loops! Is this Back to the Future or a Blast from the Past? The Breva has anti-lock brakes (gee, don't we have them too?) which probably necessitated a higher output and physically larger unit than could fit in the "old" location. I like a lot of the tech the Breva brings with it (dual plugs, floating rear drive) just not the package it's wrapped in. Ugly headlight and Aprilia/BMW "styling" just doesn't appeal to me. Here's a link to a story with a good engine pic: http://www.maxmoto.co.uk/moto_guzzi_breva_v1100.shtml Makes me want to go out and hug my Ambo! Cheers, Charlie. |
