Throttle cables are all new and the splitter clean and all are lightly
lubed.
There is a little play in the main cable which I will adjust out and I
squeezed the socket a tad. At least it's easy to pop back into place.
The police officer's spotlight helped last night!

John: The normal tension of the throttle shouldn't be enough to pop that ball out continuously. As others have mentioned, it might be a throttle cable going bad. However before you go out and buy new cables, check the cable splitter attached to the frame rail under the tank. If this is gummed up it could be the source of the problem, and a good lube might be a cheap fix. John Prusnek |
