My pal, Kev painted the case on his 74 Eldo. I was skeptical at first. Since
all the chrome was gone on the bike he blackened everything out. Frame got a
metallic black, sheet metal got regular black, tank panels got the same blk
as the frame. Everything is offset very nice, blk pipes even. looks like a
funky military bike. Looks bad-ass. We'll see how it holds up, paint already
peeled due to a gas leak, easily fixed though. Try to get pics to Dave this
week, Still has no belt cover-slacker-

I kind of like the tank badges, and blacked out engine cases. The color schemes are, well, uh, different. And with such catchy names as "Porphyry Gray." I'm just wondering what marketing genius decided to call their new model "The California Stone" ???!!! Most companies try and come up with vehicle names that sound exotic, have some pizzaz or sex appeal and/or suggest power, speed, or motion. None of these are qualities generally associated with the typical large piece of rock. Its on the official Guzzi site, http://guzzi.powerhouse.it/eng/california_jac.html, so apparently they are serious about this.
