Actually, I'm thinking a more apt comparison might be the Ford/Mercury
"Merkur" of the Eighties. Actually a very competent car (unlike the
Cimmaron) but saddled with a goofy name and poor marketing.
I agree with Ian that styling reminiscent of the loopframes would sell more
bikes.
But, I hope The Stone catches on big time and they sell a zillion of 'em.
Whatever keeps Guzzi viable in North America is a good thing.

Maybe Guzzi hired the same Marketing genius that made the Cadillac Cimmaron back about 10-15 years ago. It was GMs attempt at competing with BMW , and other luxury sport sedans. They thought no one would notice it was a Chevy Cavalier with leather upholstery and new wheels and a jacked up price! |
