Karl and Jane,
Guzzi designers are color-blind and taxonomically challenged. Did you see
the name of the new line of Guzzis? "Stone"??!! Yikes!, I thought
motorcycles were supposed to help the rider feel the freedom of the road.
Do stones inspire anyone to feel free??!! Those Guzzi (or Aprilla) MBAs
must be inhaling large amounts of illegal something-or-other.

American market. The name that bugged me the most was the California EV (evolution). Personally I do not care for Hardly Davidson and for Guzzi to use a name that is strongly associated with HD is nuts. HD may make a good bike but what bugs me is that 95% of the owners have the attitude that "if it is not a Harley, it's not a real bike", when most of the owners look like they just got their first bike when they sold off their dot com stock last year before the bust. I actually had a guy decked out head to toe in Harley garb, on a new road king ask me what year my hog was. I was on my Eldo ! The thing I think is strange is every year Guzzi has to pick at least 2 awful paint schemes for their bikes. The local dealer had a 98 yellow and orange-brown EV on his floor for years and could not give it away, he finally had to repaint it. To me it looked like the color of a hot dog with mustard and then their was the strawberry and cream paint scheme. Also what is the deal with Guzzi and brown. I have owned my share of Brown Guzzi's (V50III, Cali 2). They even had a Brown Bossa a few years back. Maybe their paint designer is color blind, because I have never seen a Brown Ducati. I just which Guzzi would build a modern Eldo with the |
black and white pin stripe paint scheme. Now their is a name and a paint scheme that says GUZZI !
