I dont think that will work, the tube's function is to raise the pickup
level above the bottom of the petcock so an early warning of low gas =
will
result. If you dont seal the bottom of the tube to the petcock, =
gas
can seep in under the tube bottom making it useless and then the early
warning will be a late warning like I got a few weeks ago.
Hope that makes sense. I always need a paper to draw a picture when I
explain something. Using words only can misconscrew the message
