And if you don't have access to a lathe, just use a hacksaw to take off
big chunks of the "offending" lip on the velocity stacks. Then use a
file to smooth things out. The velocity stacks are made of a relatively
soft alloy so this isn't a very hard job.

But getting them on the carbs can be a tight squeeze; leave the first
one loose on the carb so that you can rotate the filter to allow the
second filter room to maneuver.

Sure they will, just lathe off the lips from the venturis and slide the
filter throats right over.
