When I first put the points in I noticed I wasn't getting spark one the #2
cylinder, I thought maybe they were a little oily or something, so I ran an
emory board between them.
Yeah the insulator is intact, though I replaced the original nylon grommet
with a rubber one.

Why did you file?
is the insulator install between the points and the distributor?

I forgot to mention new points.
Maybe I just need to file the new points a little more?? I just used an
emery board to rough them up a little. I might be giving Mark a call before
much longer.

Points? How about the distributor itself? I'm not too knowledgeable in
this area, but that's about the only 2 things you have not listed.
Unless for some reason your timing marks are not aligned. Why don't you
give Mark E a call, 562-986-0070. He can usually solve a problem with a
simple phone call.
