Snap On used to have a nice set of straight bolt removers that came with the
correct size drill bit. You would drill the hole, hammer in the remover (it
was not tapered) and slip a special nut on the remover, wrench the broken
bolt out. These worked very well (they were also very expensive) I used them
for many years that I worked as a line mechanic. You could remove 10 out of
10 and hardly ever break one (if you drilled all the way through the bolt
then you could just push the broken remover out the back of the bolt with
another remover). I used these for a long time until I discovered the left
hand drill bit which as everyone has said works much better and faster 90%
of the time.

OK is everyone listening? This account is from a guy who restores old
Guzzis for a living (?), who has seen his share of corroded bolts, who
really needs to be efficient at this because he (unlike us) hasn't got
time to fool around with the things, and who therefore probably has a
very good touch on the T-handle.....and HIS record is 2 out of 10 under
the best possible conditions.
Everyone else, STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING IMMEDIATELY. SET THE EZ-OUT
GENTLY ON THE GROUND, AND BACK SLOWLY AWAY FROM IT. The haz-mat
