The snap ring came out easily for me, no problem. I was trying to
save the bearing since it's in good shape. I may have to go ahead and
replace it if I damage it getting it out. I hate doing that being the
cheap bastard that I am, but Ian's right, they're not too expensive.

I take it that you did remove the snap ring that holds the bearing in. I had the same problem on my Ambo. Had a devil of a time getting the snap ring out, and then the bearing followed suit. I finally used a piece of pipe to knock the thing out, after a thorough warming with a heat gun, since I was planning on replacing the bearing anyway. Tom There is a snap ring in there....at least mine has one. Once that is out I think you can take a socket and tap it out from the other side. At least this is what I did and it seemed to work. I guess if it can't be removed easily you can whack it out and if you have damaged the carrier bearing they aren't that expensive to replace. Let us know how you make out....Ian |
