SOmething i was reading about last night is that if the rear shocks are
broken down or the load is especially heavy, the final drive oil would end
up in the transmission and spew out the hole.
Could this be the case here?

They are available in various machine screw threads and pipe thread sizes. Tmhe pipe threaded sizes are a bit too large. Companies that sell pneumatic parts will have 10-32 fittings that are just right. Add a little thread sealant while you are at it. Thye grease type fittrings usually have a check ball built in and you could easily build enough pressure toblow out a seal. Let me know if you can't find one ,I have some around here . I used them on my Guzzis and gave onr to Tom Bowes to use on "Cedar" . The tube soldered into a drilled hole works well also,As previously suggested. Derek Hamlet wrote:
