Certainly and effective solution. But seems it would look kinda nasty.
Perhaps you just need to replace the spring?

It leaked badly out the hole in the shift detent plug on the left side. I drille the hole slightly larger to 1/8" and inserted a small tube and soldered in place. Then attached a fish tank air hose and ran it up into the battery compartment in an inverted U. You could see oil in the tubing, but it never went more than a couple inches high. Patrick |
