Driving home from work I stopped at a light and noticed an "electric" smell. Looking down to see if everything was all right I saw smoke coming from the generator. Of course this had happen when I was in Vallejo California near the abandoned housing projects. After pushing the bike into what seemed to be a safe location it was left for 5 min due to a quest for a phone book. Upon my return it was discovered that some one had backed into the bike and bent the LAPD saddlebag rack and smashed one of the Wixom bags. At least now the bike is safe at home even if its owner's wallet is a lot thinner I know the generator will need to be replaced but would a bad regulator have caused this or would it be a short.
