John,
If your pistons are good I would go with relining the jugs and popping in
new rings. If the pistons are shot I would go with the whole set.....which
includes pistons, cylinders, rings and wrist pins. Pretty good deal in my
opinion since you will be getting 100+ thousand miles on them before having
to look at them again.
As for the wiring....I hear that Moe at Cycle Garden has an awesome harness
that is colour correct. All for $100+. Not a bad deal. I'm not sure if Mark
at MG Classics or Cheeshead have them at MG Cycle but for the price I like
the idea of going with the replica original harness.....But I like to return
my bikes to original anyways.
Regards...Ian

On the wiring, I'd rather make my own harness rather than buying one. The electrics on this are so darn simple....and if I run into a problem down the road, I'll know exactly where to look! Plus, I DO have the minor complication of wiring for the sidecar... Thanks! john |
