longJohn>the chrome in the oil is a known thing. You can go on like this for a
and gettime BUT-you say your never going to sell.So why not do the right thing
doinga set of nikasil jugs and pistons and slap them on the old girl. You'd be
loomsthe right thing for her-and for you.As for the wiring-you can get new
from Mark at Guzzirenew or from MO at CycleGarden. Its not a job I have
attempted yet..........KO
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the chrome has been flaking for a while,
and the performance is down a little, so it's getting to be that time. I
just
have so much fun riding it, I hate to take it down... Any thoughts on
whether
it is better to have the old jugs Nikasil coated (NKSL Silicon Carbide Inc.)
or to buy new ones ($600+/-??)???
On the wiring, I'd rather make my own harness rather than buying one.
The electrics on this are so darn simple....and if I run into a problem
down the road, I'll know exactly where to look! Plus, I DO have the
minor complication of wiring for the sidecar...
Thanks!
