David,
Interesting thought. I would definately be interested in learning that info.
I'll have a look on my bike too.
I think I also have the info as to what blank fits the steering lock. I just
need to find it :-) I'll hunt the info down and then post it.
Regards....Ian

key made by a smith. He came up with a key that works within the mechanism
I did not receive keys with my "Project bike" and had to have the ignition
but it is "massaged" enough that it looks like hell. Don't some Fiat key
blanks work in the ingnition switches?
locksmith just has to have enough "Gumption" to figure out what he has to
Don't see why it could not be done for the fork locks as well. The
do. You might get some looks walking into the shop with a Loop-frame slung
over your shoulder.
would be helpful for someone to start collecting copies of working MG Keys,
I kind of threw out the question a couple years back on the MG list if it
tracking them by the lock code stamped on the key switch. If someone then
lost a key or had a bike without, a duplicate key could be produced, based
solely on the lock number. I haven't looked at the fork lock to see if it
is coded in a similar manner.
What do you think?
