Richard,

By any chance has somebody been into the engine on your bike? It almost
sounds like the valve timing, not the ignition timing is off. I haven't
been into one of these engines to know the nuances of setting up the
timing gears, but if they are a tooth or two off it would be a plausible
explanation as to why everything else you have tried has been
unsuccessful.
