Could you be more specific on what part of "Yahoo Groups can be a pain"? I joined a Mercedes list there and although it will take getting used to for me, found it to be a viable candidate for the Loop Lists new home. Any feedback is appreciated.

i too prefer the email list versus online forum. both have their positives and negatives, but i think since this list is primarilly technical based, many subscribers read most if not all the emails coming
through...on a forum, as jeff said, you can easily miss information, as many many threads change direction..... the search, although primitive, is relatively effective.. yahoogroups can be a pain, but i think there would be more subscribers and activity if it was on a mainstream email hosting server..

IIRC, when we all first got computers and someone invented the internet, the first and ONLY Guzzi listed was hosted on micapeak. For whatever reason, it was migrated away. We need some old administrator to remember why that happened so we don't step in the same puddle again. Greg Field or Roy Harvey may remember.
OH, and if we migrate, PLEASE don't go to a format that eliminates direct receipt of individual mails. I HATE threaded forums. Too often I ignore a thread that doesn't seem to pertain to me, only to discover too late that someone has changed the flow to important or pertinent data without changing the subject header. I HATE to have to go to some website and log on to read messages and then have to drill down four more pages to find responses. Ask me how often I read and post at the wild guzzi site.
Just give me the mail direct. I know how to use a delete key.

Seconded for the micapeak option. H.Marc and Carl keep the system running well. At least 3 of the other m/c lists I am on are hosted at micapeak and nary a hiccup.
