Yeah, I was kind of thinking that. The ignition switch looks
pretty old and grungy. After getting two responses indicating
that might be the problem I went ahead and ordered the one you
suggest on your website (Dennis Kirk) hopefully thats it.

Thanks guys
Ted

 Hi Ted,

You might want to check the ignition switch - as all of the
electricity
is run through it to your fuse block. If there is a contact
bad in
there, that could be causing problems.

Hey, I have a couple of nagging electrical problems. Haven't
delved in yet, but want to get any ideas.

One, my tachometer has suddenly started working only
sporadically. Sometimes it will work just fine and then I
look
down and its stuck at, oh... say 3000 rpm, or wherever it
was
when it stopped working. Even if I turn off the bike and tap
on
it, the needle doesn't move. Is my tacho toasted?

The other is something that will probably just take a lot of
time and effort. Sometimes the bike just quits. No spark. it
just suddenly dies. I have had luck opening the headlight
and
just fiddling around, maybe a short, but I still have power
to
the starter and lights and all.

Anyway, give me any good suggestions you have and I'll store
them away for the troubleshooting adventure that lies ahead.

Thanks

Ted Ward
