I dont know Charlie. My old one that I checked has a bent rod in a
couple places too. I dont see how one can refill them either, it loos
like a sealed unit.

Hi Scott,
FAC is the brand name of the dampers. As for price comparison, check
here:http://www.mgcycle.com/fork.html

Worth it? Never used them, so will leave that and what modifications are

required to fit them to Greg and others.

On my Convert, SP and G5 I refilled the o.e. dampers (they weren't
leaking just ineffective) with good results. If anyone is interested in
the details, let me know. Cheers,

Well, one I just tested gurgles and has open non dampned spots in the
travel so I will presume they are both toast.

what are the FAC's your talking about and are they worth the extra
effort , price ect ect.

They do go bad.

Squeeze the front brake and push down with force on the bars. Do the
forks resist or collapse like a house of cards?

Or, if you have them in hand, push and pull on the rods. Do they go in
and out through the stroke with even resistance?

Replace with the longer G5 dampers and springs. Or, with a little work
you can put in FACs.

Best way to check them?

Replacement ideas if needed?
