2. Oil light: Well I got it working with the new switch, problem is,
it does not go out! What should I check to see why the light is not
going out? How can you tell if the oil pump is working? How hard is it
to replace?

Better figure this out quickly. Disconnect the wire at the pressure
switch. Turn on the ignition. If the light comes on, you have a short
or miswire somewhere. Its a hot circuit and the only way to ground is
through the switch. If the light goes out when you disconnect the
switch, then your problem is either a bad switch or NO PRESSURE. Test
with another switch. Remove valve cover. Remove spark plugs. Crank
engine. Does oil dribble out around the rocker arms? If not, you'd
better find the pressure problem.

Hah! Adjust all you want. Get used to it.

 5. Smelled gas and realized the left petcock was leaking. Tried to
tighten it, helped a bit but it was still weeping, tried tightening it
more and it wouldn't tighten, felt sort of stripped. I'm draining the
gas now. I guess I need some washers on it? Looks like there is just

The petcocks should have fiber washers to seal against the bottom of the

size adapter, then realized my 15 year old carb stix had no mercury left
in them! Must have leaked out somewhere in the garage!

Um, I'd suggest you find the wayward mercury. Toxic stuff to be rolling
around on the floor.
