71 Ambo. It's basically newly rebuilt, maybe 500 miles on it by previous owner.
Just your basic lurch and stall in first, so eloquently described by Greg.
But I can take off smooth in 2nd, no faltering, no problem. Maybe I'm just

Could this be a loopframe with an old, notched, dirty clutch that works like an electric switch? Heavens, I've never heard of such a condition. Bitch to get started off in first when they grab like that. So, do tell. What model and year of bike? What happens if you do try to start off in first? Patrick Hayes Fremont CA |
