Gunn and Mike, Yeah, put the wrist pins in a baggie and pop them into the
freezer for 30 min. then heat the whole piston with a heat gun, avoid using
blow torch, flame etc. Like Charlie says support piston from other side
before ramming home the freezing wrist pin into the hot piston. If you have
enough temperature variation the wrist pin should slide in pretty easily
without much ramming. Bob

I ride my Ambo all winter. I, too, have the
flip-chokes, which I like, but which are either all-on
or all-off. Some winters I raise my slide needles to
the highest position, which sweetens the fuel mixture
a little. I also start the engine before putting on my
helmet, etc., so it has a few minutes to warm up.
Gunner, when I had the wrist pins out on my Ambo, I
think I had to heat up the piston. The originals (if I
remember correctly) are a slight interference fit. The
ones that came with my new Gilardoni pistons were not
- they slid right in.
