I ride my Ambo all winter. I, too, have the
flip-chokes, which I like, but which are either all-on
or all-off. Some winters I raise my slide needles to
the highest position, which sweetens the fuel mixture
a little. I also start the engine before putting on my
helmet, etc., so it has a few minutes to warm up.
Gunner, when I had the wrist pins out on my Ambo, I
think I had to heat up the piston. The originals (if I
remember correctly) are a slight interference fit. The
ones that came with my new Gilardoni pistons were not
- they slid right in.
