Steve,

Forgot to mention an immediate (and free) source for a 2mm clutch
hub...just take the one you have off of your transmission. Then, you'll
just need to pick up a long bolt (should be 12mm x 1.5mm) and a bunch of
1/2" washers to use as spacers, etc. The only thing that is especially
nice about the ready-made tools is that the center hole (where the bolt
goes through) is sized to fit the diameter of the bolt. Thus, your
plates will be centered. But, you can either find/create a spacer of the
correct size, or just do it by eye.

Hi Steve,

The special tool is not required...just makes life easier...definitely
doable without it, just take your time so that you don't bend the
intermediate plate.

Yes, an old hub is just a good as the special tool. Not sure where to
get an old 2mm hub, though.

Hey Tom, I'd be interested to see that cradle too, as I think my lift
sounds similar to yours. Also I'd be interested in some way to put fork

oil in through the drain.

I'm cleaning and polishing the Eldo for reassembly, after much debate
decided to wait on the RAM clutch till next year and just replace the
friction plates for now. On the subject of Clutch re-assembly how hard
is it to do without an alignment tool? Is buying an alignment tool ala
MG cycle worth the $. Is it true an old clutch/trans input gear can be
used? If so does anyone know where I can get one? (I have old style
2mm splines on my hub. I guess that's enough questions for one post.
