A longer rod would not have increased displacement as stroke would only be as
long as the "fore and aft" movement of the crank throw. A longer rod would
merely move the piston up into the cylinder farther. To increase displacement
utilizing the same bore, (from 750 to 850) a different crank was required with a
longer throw. And there you go................
