Ray, Work will be done on Sat. No need but thanks for the offer of the dial indicator though. I'll look for any signs of wear that might indicate this problem. I guess I should bring my camera and take "photo notes".

I was talking to Frank Wedge about this whole clutch thing recently. He advised that there were a bunch of reported loop trannies with the main shaft at a tiny angle (I understood him to mean off center) and that they ate clutches for breakfast. We didn't get to the part of the conversation where we would have discussed how to diagnose and/or remedy this problem. Sounds like Greg has some knowledge of this, also. I will call Stan Friduss tonight and see if he has some insight and will report back. Being that my trans is on the bench right now, assembled, I will also place the dial indicator on the input shaft tonight and look for wiggles. If you're tearing yours open, I'm willing to send the indicator your way again so you can check your main shaft and report back to the list also. Maybe, just maybe, we'll figure this thing out. Jason, I'm waiting for my bankroll to allow me to buy the RAM, also. Hopefully by November. Please let us know how the installation goes. When I do mine I promise to take many photos and post them. I'm particularly interested in knowing your opinion of the hardware. I'm also curious as hell as to the total weight compared to stock parts. Batten down the hatches, mateys. Yet another hurricane to weather through. This time I'm staying here at home. I stupidly rode to Daytona to avoid "Charley". Duh! Great bar parties afterwards, at least the ones who had generators, but pretty damn scary for a while. I couldn't fit the bike in my motel room but it suffered no damage, although adjacent cars had windows missing. Luck of the ignorant. Ray ianad-@linkamerica.net wrote:
