Thanks Dave! Is this what you're using? How is it holding up so far?
Just before VMD I needed a battery for the '69 Ambo and ended up
installing an Interstate/Yuasa/Exide regular lead-acid one. Cost about
the same as the Panasonic on the link and so far so good.
A related story if I may: My brother's Ducati always has a dead battery
it seems even though I bought him a Battery Tender Jr. for Christmas
three years ago (it's still in the original packaging buried deep in the
20' box truck where all his belongings are stored). Last year he
installed a new Interstate battery but never charged it over the winter.
Of course this spring it was dead as a doornail and wouldn't take a
charge. He was severely bummed that he wouldn't be able to take his
latest squeeze for a ride so I took pity and loaned him one of the Yuasa
AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) sealed lead-acid batteries that had been on my
shelf and never charged for three years. These batteries were given to
me by a Building Engineer friend who was in charge of changing them out
of a computer UPS systems. If the Panasonic is anything like these, I'll
be buying one. The battery I gave him spun the bike over like it was
freshly charged! And true to form, he rode back in the spring and didn't
again until two weeks ago. Nor had he charged the battery of course.
Once again that battery saved his sorry butt from that embarrassing
click-click-click. I'll be needing a battery for the '72 1000 Ambo
project soon, this might just be the one. Cheers,
