Hi All,

Like I said, if the Interstate U1 SP40 (garden tractor battery) had a vent
it would be just about right. However, it doesn't, so I've been using one in
my personal Ambo that has a vent hose and screw-on caps. I bought it 2 1/2
years ago from my small engine parts supplier Rotary Corp. for $25. With my
Marelli starter it wouldn't hurt to have more than the 220 ca it supplies,
but so far it's done fine. I switched to this one after the (acid) damage
had been done by an Exide cap-vent model. Some people just have to learn the
hard way! :-)

(Yes, I know this thread already died, but I just thought of this today.)
Cheers,

Charlie

I like to use the Harley type battery. Model YHD-12. The main reason is
although the tractor bat works well ,it does not have a remote vent
tube. It only takes one good(BAD!) overcharge to start a lifetime of
corrosion.
